Qiang Huang

Research Interests: Agentic AI for Manufacturing: Foundation Models for 3D Printing Quality Control; Domain-informed Machine Learning for Smart Manufacturing; Causal Machine Learning for Engineering Systems

Bio: Professor Huang Qiang's research has been focusing on engineering-informed machine learning and data analytics for smart manufacturing, with special emphasis on Machine Learning for Additive Manufacturing (ML4AM) and Integrated Nanomanufacturing and Nanoinformatics (INN). He is a Fellow of IISE and ASME. He received NSF CAREER award and numerous best paper awards. He was the holder of Gordon S. Marshall Early Career Chair in Engineering at USC from 2012 to 2016. He holds five US patents on 3D printing accuracy control. He has founded the international workshop on Accuracy Control for Additive Manufacturing (FACAM) since 2016. He is Department Editor for IISE Transactions and Associate Editor for ASME Transactions, Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering. He also served an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering and for IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters.

Yixiong Feng

Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Guizhou University
National Distinguished Professor

Research Interests: Digital design and manufacturing of major equipment, human-computer interaction and innovative design, cognitive computing and intelligent design, and Human-Cyber-Physical Systems (HCPS)

Bio:Yi-Xiong Feng, Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor, is a National Leading Talent (High-Level), a World's Top 2% Scientist (Annual Impact), and a Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program. He is also a recipient of the National Excellent Young Scientists Fund and the Zhejiang Provincial Distinguished Youth Fund. Currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Sub-committee on Industrial Big Data and Intelligent Systems at the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, he has led multiple National Key R&D Program projects, NSFC Key Projects, and 863 Program Key Projects. He has published over 300 SCI/EI-indexed papers, authored 5 academic monographs (including one supported by the 2023 National Fund for Academic Publication in Science and Technology), and been granted more than 50 national invention patents. His honors include 1 Second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award, 1 Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and 9 First Prizes of Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards.

Mian Li

Professor with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China
Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers

Research Interests: Intelligent Design and Manufacturing, Reliability Modeling, System Health and Safety Monitoring, Multidisciplinary Design of Complex Systems

Bio: Professor Mian Li serves as the Director of the Energy Storage Battery Equipment and Manufacturing Center at the National Platform for Industry-Education Integration Innovation in Energy Storage Technology, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Emergency Management, Director of the SJTU-BorgWarner-Siemens Sustainable Technology Research Center, and Executive Director of the Extreme Manufacturing Center at the Pu Yuan School of Future Technology. He has long been engaged in research on intelligent design and manufacturing, reliability modeling, system health and safety monitoring, and multidisciplinary design of complex systems. He has accumulated substantial theoretical and practical experience in system simulation, robust design, optimal control methods, and industrial artificial intelligence. He has led multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and sub-projects under the Ministry of Science and Technology's National Key R&D Program; he has also led and participated in several projects under the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan and key technology research programs. He was selected for the 2025 Shanghai Oriental Talent Program (Top-Tier Project). To date, he has published over 120 papers in high-impact international journals and conferences, including more than 70 SCI-indexed journal articles.

Tangbin Xia

Professor, Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Young Changjiang Scholar (Ministry of Education)

Research Interests: Smart manufacturing systems, quality and reliability engineering, and artificial intelligence and data science

Bio:Tangbin Xia, Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is a Young Changjiang Scholar appointed by the Ministry of Education. He currently serves as Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on smart manufacturing systems and quality & reliability engineering. He has published over 180 SCI papers and 4 monographs/textbooks. As a chief scientist, he leads numerous National Key R&D Programs and NSFC projects. He is a recipient of the Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement Award and multiple first prizes from Shanghai Municipality and professional societies (CMES, CAQ). He serves on editorial boards including the Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineeringand holds key positions in various academic societies, such as the Shanghai Modern Design Methodology Research Association and the Reliability Branch of the Operations Research Society of China.
